Reading-writing to begin to then write
Let’s try this. What if: reading-writing is a verb. I have to be in conversation with the Teddy Eagleton concept—and as I read, I’m responding to what I’m reading, and often juggling writing-to-be-written response ideas, phrases, and sentences as I go along. I do this in very small increments: if there’s a manuscript that I’m really having a philosophically creative response to, I the writing-to-be-written as it occurs should come to fruition. And I am beginning to then write.
